Backstreet Boy Goes Solo

Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell has decided to start a spiritual solo career, and will release a gospel album in May.

Littrell and the rest of the boys took a hiatus from their hectic Backstreet schedule in 2001. Prior to getting back together and releasing their 2005 album Never Gone, Brian became a father and began working on his solo record. Before Never Gone hit shelves Littrell's first solo single "In Christ Alone" was released on the Christian compilation CD Wow #1's. The tune is nominated for inspirational recorded song of the year at the Gospel Music Association Awards (also know as the Dove Awards).

His solo career was put on the back burner while the boys toured behind Never Gone, but now that their world tour has wrapped up Littrell is getting ready to release his first solo gospel CD Welcome Home on May 2.

Backstreet Boy’s Brian Littrell Releases Debut Christian Album

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) March 9, 2006— Brian Littrell, one of pop’s most recognized and bestselling artists, is set to release this spring his debut Christian-market album Welcome Home. In conjunction with Jive Records, the Reunion Records project arrives on the heels of last summer’s No. 1 Christian radio single, Littrell’s remake of “In Christ Alone,” a Dove-nominated track off WOW #1s. The first single from Welcome Home will be its title track, which goes for adds on Friday, March 17.

Backstreet bros get real

With news another Backstreet Boys "hiatus" is just around the corner, The Insider revealed last week Backstreet Boy Nick Carter and his little brother Aaron may soon be starring in their own reality TV show.

News of the reality show came to light after Aaron told paparazzi outside an L.A. restaurant, 'the Carter family is doing a reality show."

Nick apparently tried to shut his brother up, but upon further investigation it was revealed the boys' mom, Jane, has been shopping the show around to various networks.

No, the show wouldn't be an expose on the life of a Backstreet Boy, but rather an intervention style show about the family working together to get Aaron's wild lifestyle under control.

Why didn't they film this show a few years back when Nick was dating Paris Hilton and Aaron was trying to juggle Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan? Now that would have made for some good TV!
