(...)The online side of poker saw bluffs and raises from Backstreet Boys Nick Carter. When asked about playing a few hands Nick responded with "how about now." On hand number one Nick posted the big blind and was dealt a modest J 10 suited. Without a raise Nick checked and saw an open ended straight come on the flop. Glancing up he responded with a confident, "raise it." Two checks and it was time for action. Raising to $30 on the open-ended Nick received one fold and one call. The next card out was a miss, the 2 of clubs and there again was a check. Now going against most tight poker play Nick quickly strung out another $30 bet. With the pot odds right the player to left decided to call it. Now with the action pressed the river was kind. The King landed with a boom and Nick was all-in immediately. The result was surprising and just the wild games on CelebPoker.com Nick landed the pot with a straight beating the all-in two pair to the next opponent. The company has an established bond with the popular boy band. In early 1999, Zathz saw that his daughter was obsessed with the Backstreet Boys' music, so he decided to financially support the group, which has sold 75 million albums worldwide. The company is sponsoring the Backstreet Boys' first concert in China, following a five-year absence from the stage, at a price tag of more than 10 million yuan (US$1.23 million). And for those who didn't get enough of the Backstreet Boys' appearance earlier this year at the Force of Nature concert then you'll be glad that the quintet's Never Gone Tour hits Asia in January. That's the good news. The bad news is that Malaysia has, once again, been sidelined for whatever reason. The nearest cities to us that the boys are appearing at are north in Bangkok, and south in Singapore. CelebPoker.com was in attendance at the 2005 American Music Awards show providing the Texas Hold'em action. The cards and chips were dealt backstage with celebrities and entertainers online and at the CelebPoker tables. (...) After presenting an award, the infamous Backstreet Boys were in the house to sign a poker chip set and get hands on with the system. The entire band spent several minutes talking about their games together, their poker experiences and who is the top player among the group. This proved to be quite a heated debate but after some laughs the general consensus was Nick Carter taking the title. After that it was time to put Nick to the test online. Right there at the AMA's the game was on. Jumping on to a low limit table Nick proved to be a real player. Not loosing one hand while playing Carter called an All-In bet with nothing and bluffed a massive pot. The player folding couldn't believe his eyes and had to have felt sick seeing Carters boldly played 10-3 off suit. After a five-year break since they released their last studio album, the boys have come up with their sixth album titled Never Gone and are embarking on their global tour. Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean and Kevin Richardson have together sold more than 80 million albums since their first foray into the music scene. When we thought the popularity of the Backstreet Boys was running low, the amount of fans that impatiently waited for the group at the Atlantic Pavilion proved the opposite. The older fans had aged - Backstreet, being stars, only matured - but their public also got younger in the skin of the many teenagers and children attending. The idea the stadium would be too pretentious for a concert of the North American boyband revealed soon to be false when we came across various welcome posters and banners. The message was clear: 'Portugal Is Still Here 4 U'. The five Backstreet Boys went on stage followed by a band and a blinding game of lights and fireworks. 'The Call' marked the begining of a two hour spectacle, where they played the group's biggest hits, with choreographies on a two story stage and luminous staircases. The energy of the rehearsed dance steps kept the audience singing on their feet for most part of the show - ignoring the bad sound quality in the Atlantic that barely let us hear the Boys' voices. Crawling Back to You Backstreet Boys Producer(s): John Fields Genre: POP Label: Jive (CD promo) Backstreet Boys made a stunning (global) return earlier this year with the lush "Incomplete." All signals were go, but then radio missed out on uptempo follow-up "Just Want You to Know." Jive is striving to score again with third single "Crawling Back to You," another smart, melodic ballad that should meet favor with the group's maturing base, as well as fans of well-crafted songs at adult top 40. Perhaps midtempo pop stunner "Climbing the Walls" or critics' favorite "Poster Girl" might have been better choices, but let's hope programmers have weighed in favorably on "Crawling." There are plenty of hits left on current disc "Never Gone," but BSB's return to glory has little room for error, amid the novelty acts continually hogging the airwaves. Originally scheduled for this year, Reunion Records and Brian Littrell decided to move his solo album to early 2006 due to the overwhelming momentum surrounding the release of the Backstreet Boys sixth album, Never Gone. Brian explains, “Because I want to put out the best quality record I know how to do, we thought it’d be best to move my solo album on Reunion Records into 2006 to allow for time to focus on finishing the writing and recording. This album means so much to me and I want to dedicate my best to it. “God has blessed me with a truly amazing platform and the ability to touch people in a special way through music." Ling was quoted by publications saying that she was in love and that the two of them are engaged! A representative from Bai Ling's camp informed Carter's rep that she never said the things that were reported. Carter and Ling are just friends and Nick is dating and most recently he has been linked with a sexy singer from the Atomic Kittens while on his European tour.

It was more than ten years ago, in the tumultuous 90's when the pop scene seemed to exist nearly exclusively of Boygroups: at that time five boys from Orlando in the US- Sunstate Florida dominated the charts and played in sold out halls filled with hysterical screaming teenagers. Now the "Backstreet Boys" are back again, on their Germany Tour also in the Nuremberg "Arena" - and at first sight nothing seems to be changed. Admittedly, AJ, Brian, Howie, Kevin and Nick have obviously become older and more expertly, the show still works with a little more perfection than before. In 2005 the appearance of the five is still based on the spectacular choreography which seems more synchronous and more polished than of almost all other entertainers of the pop; from the full harmony songs which can also make from the easiest song one more goosebumbs-hymn; from the pure presence and stage radiation of the quintet combined with that good appearance which the boys already made dream lovers and desirable sons-in-law a decade ago. The Backstreet Boys filed a lawsuit against Louis Pearlman and his Trans Continental Records today (Nov. 3) for reimbursement of legal settlements the group paid to former member Sam "Phoenix Stone" Licata and former managers Sybil Hall and Jeanne Tanzy Williams. The settlement amounts were confidential and have not yet been disclosed. The complaint, filed in the Circuit Court for Orange County, Fla., alleges that Pearlman orchestrated control over a number of corporations that held rights to the Boys' entertainment services and products since the group first formed in 1993. The battle of Backstreet still isn't over: A new round has begun with the group filing another lawsuit against Lou Pearlman, the manager/ Svengali who created them. The group first sued (and settled with) Pearlman in 1998 to get out of its contract with him (see "Backstreet Boys Settle With Pearlman, Record New Album"), and there have been a number of smaller lawsuits over the years. Last week, the group filed a suit in Orange County, Florida, that makes a number of complicated claims, one of which alleges that Pearlman did not dissolve all of the Boys' business entities but instead used the money to start up new ones in their name.
